Warranty Terms

When you buy a GR1T motorcycle, you get more than just cutting-edge engineering. You also get our commitment to stand behind your motorcycle.

What we cover

We cover manufacturing defects on the following parts:

  • Frame and chassis (manufacturing defects)
  • Electrical systems and harnesses
  • Thermal management system
  • Onboard charging equipment supplied by GR1T

What we don’t cover

  • Normal wear parts like tyres, brake pads, chains, belts, sprockets, bulbs and seat covers
  • Damage from accidents, racing or competition use, stunts, misuse, or poor storage
  • Damage from immersion in water or usage in extreme weather conditions
  • Modifications or repairs with non-approved parts or software
  • Charging or storage outside GR1T’s published guidelines

Off-road use

If your bike is configured for off-road or dual-sport riding, it’s covered — as long as you ride within the limits of the Owner’s Manual.

Your responsibilities

  • Follow the maintenance schedule and keep receipts or records
  • Use GR1T-approved chargers and charging profiles
  • Install software updates when provided
  • Report issues promptly

Data and diagnostics

To keep your bike safe and reliable, GR1T collects certain diagnostic data (such as charging behaviour and performance logs). This helps us confirm warranty claims, improve safety, and enhance future models. Data are processed under GDPR and stored in the EU.

Transferable

If you sell your motorcycle within the EU/EEA, the remaining warranty passes to the next owner free of charge.

Always protected by law

This warranty adds to your statutory 2-year legal guarantee under EU law. Your consumer rights are always preserved.

Limited Warranty for EU/EEA Customers of GRIT Motorcycles GmbH

1. Definitions

  • Legal guarantee (Gewährleistung): Statutory 2-year guarantee of conformity under Directive (EU) 2019/771 and national law (e.g. §§ 434 ff. BGB).
  • Commercial warranty (Garantie): Voluntary coverage described in this document, in addition to statutory rights.
  • SOH (State of Health): Usable battery capacity compared with original nominal capacity, measured by GR1T diagnostic protocol at 25 °C.

2. Statutory Rights

Your legal rights under the EU consumer guarantee remain unaffected. These apply for 3 years from delivery, enforceable against the seller.

3. GR1T Commercial Warranty

  • Motorcycle (all components unless excluded): 36 months, 36,000 km.
  • Powertrain (motor, controller, gearbox, onboard charger, BMS): 36 months or 36,000 km (whichever comes first).
  • Traction battery: 36 months or 36,000 km (whichever first), to retain at least 70% SOH. If SOH falls below threshold under compliant use, GR1T will repair or replace the battery or modules.

4. Coverage Includes

  • Chassis and frame (manufacturing defects only)
  • Electrical system and harnesses (manufacturing defects only)
  • Thermal management system (manufacturing defects only)
  • Supplied onboard charging equipment (manufacturing defects only)

5. Exclusions

  • Wear items: tyres, brake pads/discs, bearings, chains/belts, sprockets, bulbs, grips, seats, cosmetic trim.
  • Environmental/usage: accidents, racing/competition, stunts, misuse, overloading, improper storage, corrosion, pest damage.
  • Improper maintenance or modifications: skipped scheduled service, non-approved software or parts, tampering with sealed HV components.
  • Charging abuse: charging outside GR1T specifications; deliberate deep-discharge storage; exposure above 55°C; submersion in water or other liquid.

6. Battery Specifics

  • Normal degradation: SOH ≥ 70% at 3 years/36,000 km.
  • Compliant charging: The GR1T battery is designed for low-voltage charging to full in ~3 hours. Use only approved chargers and follow Owner’s Manual guidance.

7. Off-Road Use

If the motorcycle is configured and marketed for off-road/dual-sport use, such use is covered provided it complies with the Owner’s Manual. Competition/race use remains excluded.

8. Owner Obligations

  • Follow maintenance schedule and keep records.
  • Use approved chargers and charging profiles.
  • Apply GR1T software/firmware updates.
  • Notify GR1T or dealer of faults within 30 days of discovery.

9. Claims Process

  • Contact GR1T or authorised dealer with VIN, mileage, and description.
  • Telemetry data may be requested to verify compliance.
  • Covered repairs are performed free of charge (parts and labour).
  • Transport/recovery to workshop is not included.

10. GDPR Consent (telematics/data)

By activating your motorcycle and connecting to GR1T services, you consent to GR1T collecting, processing, and storing diagnostic and usage data (including charging behaviour, fault logs, and performance metrics) for: Warranty verification; Safety monitoring, and Product improvement.

Data are processed under GDPR, stored within the EU, and shared only with authorised GR1T partners as necessary. Detailed privacy terms are available in GR1T’s Privacy Policy. Consent can be withdrawn, but this may affect warranty eligibility where data are required to assess compliance.

11. Transferability

This Limited Warranty is transferable to subsequent owners within the EU/EEA for the unexpired term, without cost.

12. Governing Law

This warranty is governed by German law. Courts in Berlin have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to your consumer rights in your country of residence.
