About GR1T

GR1T Motorcycles is building a new generation of intelligent, electric motorcycles engineered for global markets. Our platform combines advanced powertrain design, smart telemetry, digital twins, and a fully integrated Industry 4.0 production ecosystem. We are now entering the final stages of pre-production and are scaling our industrial engineering processes, sourcing, and supplier integration.

To support our growth, we are seeking an experienced Technical Product & Production Manager with a proven background in motorcycle or electric-motorcycle development. This is a pivotal role: you will be the technical anchor of the organisation, ensuring that engineering, sourcing, testing, and production converge into a world-class product delivered at industrial scale.

Role Overview

The position begins as a part-time engagement, equivalent to one (1) full working day per week, plus participation in project-critical workshops, factory visits, and design reviews. The role will scale toward full-time as the company ramps from pre-production to assembly-line operations.

You will work directly with the Founders, Industrial Partners, and our distributed design and R&D teams. The ideal candidate brings deep industry experience, technical rigour, and the maturity to guide a fast-moving team through complex engineering challenges.

Please note that we are a startup that is innovating rapidly and effectively. We are not in interested in stagnant or arrogant viewpoints based on some form of imagined historical supremacy. We are not interested in being told why we can’t do something, but in finding solutions why we can.

Please do not apply if you perceive your role is to tell us how BMW or someone else would do things.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Engineering & Industrialisation

  • Oversee the industrial engineering process for GR1T’s electric motorcycle prototypes.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between external designers, engineers, and key suppliers.
  • Review CAD, engineering drawings, simulations, and technical documentation to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and continuous optimisation of components and assemblies.

2. Component Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Manage sourcing of ~200 components, including 8–10 critical suppliers (battery, BMS, motor, controller, frame, suspension, braking, dash/telemetry).
  • Drive supplier selection, negotiation, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Work with suppliers to address technical feedback, early faults, sample validation, and quality benchmarks.

3. Product Testing & Validation

  • Oversee final development testing, including endurance testing, cold-weather trials, and reliability assessments.
  • Coordinate test schedules, test equipment, data capture, and reporting.
  • Ensure issues are rapidly diagnosed, escalated, and resolved with engineering and suppliers.

4. Homologation & Quality Assurance

  • Support compliance with EU, UK, and US homologation standards.
  • Assist in shaping the QA/QC framework for prototype to production phases.
  • Work with GR1T engineering partners and test labs to complete all required certification steps.

5. Assembly Plant Industrial Engineering

  • Advise on assembly line planning, industrial layout, workstation design, process maps, SOPs, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate on integration of MES/ERP, digital twins, and traceability systems within the GR1T DigitalCore architecture. Even if digital is not your core competence, your vision and experience are appreciated.

6. Team Collaboration & Events

  • Attend four trade fairs and team meetings in the first half of 2026 (approx. 3 working days each).
  • Contribute to technical reviews, supplier visits, prototype inspections, investor/partner showcases, and team alignment sessions.
  • Work in a hybrid format: remote analysis and on-site presence as required.
  • All approved travel costs covered by GR1T. Yes, we travel economy class.

Qualifications & Profile

Required

  • At least 10 years, ideally 15–20 years, in motorcycle engineering, EV motorcycle development, or equivalent vehicle/mobility design.
  • Proven experience with component sourcing, supplier negotiation, and technical programme leadership.
  • Strong background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or quality assurance.
  • Fluent English (written & spoken).
  • Competent with CAD, engineering documentation, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication.
  • Forward and open-thinking innovator who can work in teams in a cooperative way.

Preferred

  • Experience with electric drivetrains, battery systems, or BMS integration.
  • Knowledge of EU/US homologation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, industrial automation, or MES/ERP.
  • Ability to travel within Europe/US for suppliers, testing, and workshops.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Engagement Terms

  • Part-Time Structure: One day per week, year-round.
  • Event Participation: 4 major engineering/homologation events in H1 2026 with ~3 working days per event.
  • Travel: Fully covered by GR1T.
  • Hybrid Work: Remote + on-site (Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, or other locations as needed).
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on seniority and experience; consultancy model initially with the option to convert into a full-time leadership role as GR1T scales production.
